An Honest Review of the LELO Gigi 2

The LELO Gigi claims to be the world’s best-selling G-spot massager. That’s a huge claim to make… so I’ve taken it upon myself to investigate this personally.  

About the G-spot

Ahh the elusive G-spot… where is it and does it even exist? Let’s start by clarifying any confusion… YES it exists, and here are specific instructions on how to locate it.

The G-spot is about the size of a small coin. It is an area of spongy tissue located along the frontal wall of the vagina, about 2-3 inches (5-7cm) from the vaginal opening.

To find it, insert two fingers into your vagina and curl your fingers up towards the wall of your stomach. It helps if you use some lube and are aroused when doing this as your G-spot hardens and becomes engorged when you’re turned on. When you make contact with a bean-shaped area that is more textured and slightly rougher than the smooth vaginal walls, congratulations – you’ve found your G-spot!

Based on my experience and other reviews, the Gigi’s gentle curve suits most anatomies. Of course, there isn’t a one-size-fits-all for sex toys, but this appears to be a good fit for most.      

Noise

The Experience

Tips

You might want to press harder to apply direct pressure on your G-spot or simply hold it against the area while exploring the different vibration patterns. And as mentioned previously, you can also use it hands-free by crossing your thighs or lying on your stomach.

Slowly increase the intensity and play with the combination of patterns to find your favourite mode. You can build yourself up to a climax by focusing the vibrations on your G-spot, or if you’re more accustomed to a clitoral orgasm, pull it out when you’re close and press it on your engorged clit for the final push towards climax. 

Regardless of how you decide to use the Gigi, get ready for an explosive orgasm.

Cons

Cleaning

While the Gigi is fully waterproof and its premium silicone makes it easy to clean, do pay extra attention to the ridge between the silicone and plastic part of the toy. Ensure you get into the grooves to prevent any nasties from building up in there. Give the toy a good clean with warm water and soap before and after each use and you’ll be all good!

Size

Out of the total 6.5 inches, 3.7 inches is insertable. This is more than enough to reach the G-spot for most people. However, all anatomies are different and if you’re more accustomed to lengthier toys, you might be missing some length with this one.

Power

While this is more than powerful enough for myself and most other reviewers, if you are an absolute power-queen and your G-spot requires extra strength stimulation, you might need something more “heavy duty”.

Grip

Some users have reported finding the handle slippery when wet. Obviously, this isn’t an issue unique to the Gigi. Since LELO tends to update their products based on consumer feedback, perhaps they might consider adding a non-slip grip or a finger loop (like the Soraya) if they decide to do a Gigi 3?

Some users have also reported that the 3-inch handle is too short, making it difficult to handle and control. Because it is difficult to get a firm grip, the toy sometimes slides inside deeper than it should, making it difficult to access the buttons. While I don’t personally experience this, I think the key is to figure out the best way to hold it by testing out different grips. Like with all toys, it’s important to let yourself play around with it a little before finding what works for you. Also, let’s remember that this is a g-spot stimulator; if you’re looking for a traditional dildo for deep penetration, this isn’t it.

Buttons

The four buttons are a bit crowded, making them a bit finicky to use and press correctly while in the middle of a session…you might end up pressing two or three buttons at once.

However, I actually really appreciate that the four buttons provide more control – giving the option to go back to the previous mode if you accidentally skip it, unlike most toys without the “back” function, which force you to keep pressing through the entire cycle to get back to the start before returning to the mode you skipped.

Maybe if LELO decides to produce a Gigi 3, they may consider repositioning these buttons so they serve the same functionality but are more spaced out.
